Another milestone... the big 51... and you're not here in the physical but tunes on repeat today for the holiday season to celebrate your birthday. I'll take a drink for you today ;)
Continue to Rest In Peace Daddy Friday!
Anniversary #7 / Sinia Payne (Website Host)
Imagine that... it's exactly 7 years today that you left your family, friends and fans all over the world in a state of disbelief, shock and heartbreak. I still can't believe it and it's been this long.
I remember exactly what I was doing- I was on the computer at work and had logged into messenger and one of my friends from Tortola that lived in Miami at the time had changed her status- "R.I.P Daddy Friday". I was stuck and thought it was a joke. So I started scrolling through my contact list of 100+ people and slowly at first... 2 people had the same status. Then like a wild fire everybody had changed their status to something similar with the same gut wrenching words- R.I.P. I quickly called home and got the shock of my life. You were gone. But how could this be??? I mean, I never thought about dying or you dying or anyone who is so full of life and high on life passing away so I was speechless when you (of all people) passed. I mean, who was gonna replace you? How can I look forward to the Awesome Jam Band without Nick Daddy Friday? It was like clock work that you had new tunes full of rhythm and bass that would set the tone for the carnival and the year ahead... it's such a true saying that 'you never miss the water til the well run dry!" and boy you are missed! But Father God knows best and although it was a hard reality to face, we had to move on in whatever way we can. But your true fans are still die hard fans and won't ever stop supporting whatever efforts Jam Band continue to do because Jam Band is a product of you. Continue to watch over the Virgin Islands as you look on from above. Your family, friends and fans all love you and knows God truly only takes the Best.
Sorry for your Loss / Angela Thompson (none) I was on the island when I saw the sign for the Nicholas Friday memorial sign and I came home to read about who this person was. After meeting some of the great people on the island I can only imagaine how special he was as the folks there all illuminate life and love. Condolences to your family for the loss of someone who so obviously touched many. United States, Kentucky
Because for what it's worth we'd rather you near...
But I'm content that you were here in the first place
So that we all could've known how to gyrate our waist
From beginning to end we had our taste
Of what its like to be in a Friday session mashing down the place.
Missing you now and forever. Time goes by and although time waits for no one it seems as if it stood still when you left. The fans are missing you at carnival time... boy Daddy it's surreal that you're not here. But I know that your family is missing you everyday. But we going all continue to keep your Legacy alive at all the picnics and BBQ's. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Daddy... eventhough you're not physically here.
My journey has ended way before I wanted it to I really wish I had more time to spend with all of you But somethings in life happen without warning or reason And a life was taken- it was my time; this was my season
Moments in time no sooner than yesterday The last 'see yah lata'- I wish I could relive today Because if I had known all what I know now I would have hugged you and held onto you somehow
Even for a little while longer Right before my time, that unwavering hour Just to whisper I love you again and again And comfort you as you cried with the thought of seeing me in heaven
But life's not designed for us to know when we're to be called home Just look at it as I had to report to the Big Man on The Throne For some reason or the other I was needed for something bigger than you and I Despite all I left undone, my calling was meaningful- I was needed in the sky
Whether it's to prepare for all my loved ones still here on earth without me Or whether it's to rest from my hard work doing God's Will and duty I am content with the life I lived and shared with all of you And when it's your turn, I'll be there to see you thru
Cry and greive awhile as I know you're gonna miss me as much as I'm gonna miss you But don't mourn forever as I'll always be there with you No matter what you feel or believe, I said it from the start- I'll always be with you: our memories reserved my spot in your heart.

3 Years later, and I'm still in Tears...Friday / Malakai Danet (Friend)
This letter is 3 years in the making and I'm still in tears, shock, anger & in utter disbelief that you are gone. I want to say "thank you" for being such a great friend and for all the good advice, especially when it came to women! I still remember what you told me at Lescargot in Subbase in 01'. I remember all of our conversations. You took me under your wing, and I want to say I'm greatful and thankful.
I know you not with us no more, but I know You'd ask me "Wha' good with you?" My answer would be, everyting safe Man'.
You were one of the biggest inspirations I've ever had in my life. I am just so mad and upset about your passing. I question alot of things, why does the good die young? Why?! Crazy people seem to live forever mison'.
Everytime we saw each other, you always made it a point to talk to me and see how everything was going. I really appreciated that. You were always smiling, happy and always positive. Most of all to the people that didn't know him, he was a regular person like you and Me.
You were my big brother from another Mother. I Loved your music and I love the person you were. Very special a person, keen sense of humor, and great intelligence. I was listening to my Jamband for the last week or so. Friday I'm still in shock, grief and don't think I will ever get over this one meh bwoy'. I miss you brother. Thank You so much for being a friend and being the realest' ever.
I feel for your family. This world took you seriously. It hurts me so much to type this because I knew this man.
The next time I'm back on the rock, I will make sure I pay you a visit to pay my respects. Love You Friday. God wanted you in Heaven early...to make our families dance. I know you'll have no problem. I'll see you when I get there too...Yes Iya...
3 years later... can you believe it??? I can hardly believe that 36 months later and it feels like yesterday I got the tragic news. Things have changed so much down here... especially over in Tola (your other home) where 4 people died over the course of 2 weeks. It's crazy Daddy... and we're all in mourning but I feel confident that you'll look over them all. You always had Tola as a special place so I know them man will be safe.
Continue to be the guiding light of the Virgin Islands... Rest In Peace.

First, I want to praise Ms. Payne for a fine job on this website. Friday would be so proud. The respect that you have for him, his talent, his family and very close friends shows in every detail of this website. I would also like to give halos to the documentary that was played on Channel 12 of Daddy Friday. It showed how precious he was to his family and close friends.

There is a new Virgin Islands publication covering the music, fashion and culture from the USVI and BVI. CORE Magazine is proud to announce the launch of its premier issue featuring Trevor Nicholas Friday on the cover. CORE Magazine saw a need to acknowledge and pay homage to the great Jam Band lead singer, the original VI road-march king, for his great contributions to the VI music scene.
As a locally owned bi-monthly publication, CORE is dedicated to chronicling the achievements of our local people; bridging the various communities abroad with the local community at home; telling the stories of young entrepreneurs who provide inspiration to the youth in our community; and providing opportunities for local artisans and musicians to showcase their art form.
Filling 64 pages with lots of positive and inspiring stories about Virgin Islanders, CORE Magazine has made history with its first issue. First let me start by saying keep up the good work webmaster. I am very happy to see that his contribution to the Virgin Islands paid off. I am deeply sadden that he is not alive to see this! No disrespect to anyone but (Honor me while I am alive not when I am dead.) Nick was a wonderful person and gave of himself freely. He made his family proud and I am very proud of all his accomplishments. We don't know what we have until it is gone. I was in St. Thomas for carnival it is not the same and it will never be. Every Jouvert morning I look up on that truck to see if he was there but he is not. It does take time to adjust to life changes. Words could never express the loss of Nicholas Friday. The impact that he had on so many lives. I pray for his family that they may find peace. His fiance you are a remarkable woman. You are strong and God will give you strength to continue on and know that Nick is ok. Sing daddy keep singing. Thank you for the years of great music. We miss you. Rest in peace, rest in peace.

Landmark!/ Sinia Payne (Website Creator) (#1 Fan )
While on vacation, I caught up with your family and was informed about the Government's plans of naming a road in your memory and I'm so proud that it has come to pass. Though the process took some time, I am glad that you're acknowledged with this wonderful landmark for your contribution to the Virgin Islands history. How amazing and awesome God is! Too many times around the world we see men die without an honor to their name when in reality, their contributions exceeded the contributions of the "fore-runnners". All Thanks be unto God for this historic moment. There's many more great things in store I'm pretty sure, but for this I am ecstatic and really grateful and would like to bestow God's richest blessings on all the persons involved in getting this idea to become a reality. I wish I could have been there but seeing the picture is just as exciting. Continue to guide us Daddy and this is just another notch under your belt.
