My Sadness of the Loss of Daddy Friday  / Richardson Sheila (none)
I came to live in Anguila 6 Years, and fell in in Love with the Jam Band Sound, boy that man had a voice.

May he rest in peace.
I've lost the Best Soca King from the V I  / Nurse Boy (Big Time # 1 Fan from the start )

Being a long time Big time fan of "Daddy Nicholas Friday" i was so shocked when i receive a phone call from St Thomas, telling me that the daddy has just passed away, i asked about ten times to really find out if it was a joke and my friend finally told me that it was the truth, from i heard the truth i went home in sadness and just started to listen the daddy music, is every day i wear a different Jam Band shirt to work until i ran out and i dont no when that will be,I could remember all those years gone with Jam Band and the daddy,The best boat ride i ever enjoyed inlife was with the Jam Band, Jam Band boat rides was always ram pack, even if its raining,Jam Band have understanding tunes with meanings.

Its really sad to see that we have to lose the big daddy so soon, once the daddy is around you have to enjoy your self, all like my friends Sour, Heads, Chap,MC,EC,and the Big Shot ISI was crying when they heard the daddy die, i am wondering what jouvert would be like know that the "daddy" would not be there, am gonna miss you on the trailer breaking mass for jouvert.  We never missed out on no session Jam Band had even if  we ha to charter a plane to go down, When he was here in Anguilla for the session i speak to him in person, he told me music is his life and never give it up, i told him i respect that, and i will do that for him.

I also think that the Danny Cat should go back with Jam band.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Daddy family and the whole Jam band crew, we gonna miss you, we are going to keep jam band alive, you would be there with us not in body but in spirit.  Rest in Peace Trevor Nicholas "Daddy" Friday.

Your Best Friend Nurse Boy

"Musical Legend that will be Greatly missed"  / Kenisha (BrownSuga) Merchant-Chapman (Long Time Fan )

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Trevor "Daddy" Friday.  He was one of the best musical Icons to bless the face of the earth, he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.  As we all know Carnival and Boatrides won't feel the same, but we will cherish the legacy of Daddy Friday.

Remember "Daddy" Say:  Never, Never give up music.

A calypso legend  / Keisa Hercules (Avid fan in my young days )
Although I now reside in the state of Georgia, friends at home have kept me abreast of Friday's cathcy tunes and lyrics over the years.  It came as a shock to me when I learned of his passing.  His family will most certainly feel the emptiness of not having his physical presence around, but I know his memories will linger.  Carnival and boat rides will not be the same without his voice, his presence and his music; but remember God's love can fill that emptiness and void left from his passing.

Love to one and all!
Music from the VI  / Tasha (Fan)

It will be mass!

We've lost A Soca Legend and 'De sweet Scoa from de VI  / Pat Jeffers (Nevisian #1 Fan )
Being a long standing fan of 'Daddy Friday'  I too was shocked when I learnt of 'Daddy' Friday's passing.  I can remember those great years of the 80's when Jam Band brought out those really great tunes.  Our favourite night spot then was Dick's Bar on Nevis and people like me, Beno (my husband) Ruffer, Janet, Andrew, Jessica (the late) , hammond, Bags and de #1 limer then, the one and only 'Sacoo', went crazy when de DJ start playing Jam Band music.  The DJ the was Uncle Don out of Brick Klin. It was then I had a love for Daddy Fridays great voice and the sweet soca music that he and his band played.  In those days it was like ritual that we leave the dance with a Jam Band song.

It's really sad that we have to lose 'Daddy' so soon.  It was always my wish to meet him in person and compliment him on his great voice and sweet, sweet Soca music.  The closest I got to him was on a boat ride in St. Thomas in 1989 when my friend Vanessa & Sacoo took me out but de music was so 'dam' sweet from de time I got onto the boat until we left, i kept dancing and I did not get a chance to meet him. My lastest favourites are 'Kill de Rabit' ( I heard the riot that this was causes that year) and 'Music from de VI'.......ooooui, I, oooooui, I, oooooui I.........Music from de V-I.,ooooui, I, oooooui, I, oooooui I.....Music from de V-I.......sing it 'Daddy!'   Every time I hear this one, I could be in me 99 nap, I have to get up and 'wine' to de sweet music from de VI.

I'd like to express my sincere and deepest sympathy to his immediate family, friends and de whole JAM BAND Massive!   We gonna miss 'Daddy' tremendously but we gonna keep de jam alive until we meet him and finish it on de other side!

God Bless.  Pat Jeffers, Nevis, WI.

A Legend, A Educator, Mentor, Lawyer, Musician and the list goes on. Daddy Friday you was one of a kind. When I heard the news that day I was just about to pay for my ticket to go Miami behind Jam Band for years me and my friend had planed to go just to support Daddy Friday and The Awesome Jam Band. The Last time they played in Tortola was for the Carrot Bay Festival and that was the first in a long time I saw Daddy Friday and the rest of the band dance on stage at the same time just having fun, who knew that would be our last Jam Band dance with "Daddy Friday" present. People say Friday  had put a curse on his fans cause from time Nick say mic check people done start dancing we danced in the rain, the mud, in the water and if the Virgin Islands use to snow yeah we would have danced in the snow untill Jam Band was finished. For the years Friday been on this earth he accumplished alot. It's still hard to listen to so his songs (don't talk about the soca tunes) without crying and  that the next time we go to a Jam Band dance "Daddy Friday" would not be there. To all the Jam Band fans remember the words of a great man     " Never Give Up Music"

Friday we Love you.

From tramping style to music from the V.I. We were there with you.  We horsechipped from Smith Bay to Four Winds....Up de hill!  V.I. carnival, we were there.  Atlanta carnival, we were there. Orlando carnival, we were there.  New York Labor Day, we were there.  Miami carnival, we were there.  No jamband, No carnival!  You are a legend and truely deserve a website of this magnitude.  You will live forever through your music.  We will continue to support Jamband because we will always hear your voice when a familiar jamband tune is played.  I hope you saw that the whole of St. Thomas was behind you and there may never be another funeral like yours.  R.I.P.
